News you can use... - January 30, 2008
I'll bet it seems like I've been on a bit of a singing/songwriting hiatus. But it's not true! In fact, I've been a busy musical bee. I've spent the last few months working with my harmony duo partner, Nina Schmir, on a 4-song EP showcasing the work we've done over the past year putting together a set of our songs. We're both really proud of it! Plus, we've finally pinned down a name for our project: Sweet Bitters. You can check us out at www.sweetbitters.net or on MySpace.
I've also sporadically continued attending meetings of the Manhattan Songwriters Circle, but I can attest to the fact that it's been seriously sporadic -- I do have a few new songs under my belt though!
I also recently started a new full-time job...as the features editor of a trade magazine called DMNews, based in Manhattan. It's fun to be on an in-house team after so many years as a freelancer, but it does mean my musical career has taken a slight backseat. But the music car is still driving, though!
Anyway, as for the new site, I decided to switch to an easy hosting service called Hostbaby, and I'm using one fo their fun templates. It's easier to keep up than the custom site I used to have...
Looking forward to seeing some of you at the Sweet Bitters show at Googie's Above the Living Room on 2/26!
